Endúr Sjøsterk AS has been awarded a contract with Gildeskål Research Centre (GIFAS) for the construction of a turn-key concrete feed barge for delivery in Q1 2020. The feed barge will have a total load capacity of a total of 700 metric tonnes, and includes a modern accommodation and office module intended for 24/7 operation.

Gildeskål Research Station (GIFAS) is a privately owned aquaculture station based in Gildeskål in Nordland, Norway. GIFAS conducts research projects within biological and technological issues, both on a small scale as well as full commercial scale.

“GIFAS is an important customer for Endúr Sjøsterk. We see exciting opportunities when delivering to a recognized aquaculture environment known for emphasizing the interactions between R&D and industrial innovation. This barge will be prepared for future solutions, providing GIFAS with great flexibility for many decades to come”, says managing director Øyvind Risnes in Endúr Sjøsterk.

The contract with GIFAS is the second turn-key feed barge contract which Endur Sjøsterk has been awarded during Q2 in 2019.  The company now has an order book that ensures more than a doubling of the turnover in 2019 compared to previous year, as well as generating activity throughout the coming three quarters.

Endúr Sjøsterk AS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of stock listed Endúr ASA, a Norwegian industrial group with clear ambitions for further growth within the three market areas aquaculture, maritime service and energy. Endúr Sjøsterk AS collaborates with its sister companies on exploiting the Group’s extensive experience from complex maritime productions, both from offshore installations and on the ship’s side. This competence is considered important in the company’s efforts to further develop future-oriented feed barges and service barges constructed in concrete.
